Wonderful place to stay!
We absolutely enjoyed our stay at Shelley's. Girona is a beautiful city and Shelley's loft is just steps away from the cobbled streets of the old city. The loft is beautiful and bright with the morning sun streaming in the windows. We were there primarily for the road cycling and we were not disappointed. Never have we cycled on roads where the motorists were so respectful and accommodating. Girona and it's surrounding roads are cycling heaven. Shelley was attentive and very helpful. I would not hesitate to recommend my friends and family stay here and we are sure to return to Shelley's loft as well.

Un loft exceptionnel!
Nous avons réservé le loft de Shelley pour les fêtes de fin d'année avec des amis. Nous étions 4 adultes et 3 enfants. Le séjour s'est très bien passé et Gérone (ou Girona) est une ville magnifique, à découvrir sans hésiter La propriétaire Shelley est une personne très agréable, disponible et qui parle très bien français, ce qui est un plus... Le loft est très bien aménagé, style industriel, les équipements sont nombreux et de qualité, une terrasse plein sud face à la forêt et avec vue sur la cathédrale !!! Sa situation est idéale et proche du centre ancien avec cathédrale, rempart, commerces, musée, à découvrir à deux pas... tout en étant situé dans un quartier très calme (Sant Daniel). Nous pourrons revenir pour en découvrir encore quelques uns !!!

Excellent base for both the town and the region; but you will want to stay home and enjoy the loft.
We loved everything about this place; owner has a beautiful esthetic that permeates the unit. We were three artist/architects and this loft checked all the boxes. Well equipped kitchen, large comfortable dining area; a single private bedroom and a second full bed in the primary living space. Worked fine for a couple + a friend. Used loft as a base for exploring Girona on foot (sights start right outside the front door) and provided easy, convenient parking to allow runs to the coast. Shelley is a pro; lots of info for travelers in the loft and personal recommendations in the neighborhood revealed several winners. She was away but we felt her presence in the unit; her support staff was excellent. Any return to Catalonia will include a return!

Luxurious loft in a peaceful part of town. Just perfect!
My husband and I spent a wonderful week in the 1st floor loft and agree that it was one of the best rentals we've ever stayed in...just perfect! Such a comfortable spacious place with everything you could possibly need. It's in an ideal location...near enough to town (less than 5 mins walk), yet away from it all for peace and quiet. The views from the balcony and the roof terrace are amazing - the valley is lush and green and you could never tire of the hourly bell ringing from the impressive cathedral. Shelley is a perfect host - extremely helpful and friendly. We are already planning our return! Thanks for a fabulous week!

Quiet and convenient
We stayed in the 3rd floor loft with the large rooftop terrace. The apartment was well equipped and a nice size for a couple. The location was just what we were looking for, quiet but close to everything we need. The trail and ravine across the road was easy access to hiking and was a great view from the terrace. Shelley went out of her way to make sure our stay was enjoyable. We will be back!!

Great place to stay in Girona
It's all been said already, really. This is just a fantastic spot to stay if you're visiting Girona. We had six nights in the apartment and it was just perfect for our needs. We had a car so we could visit the nearby area and we always found parking close by. When we wanted to go into the centre of Girona, that was only a short walk away. Shelley is the perfect host and the apartment is really comfortable and relaxing, There are a few stairs to climb (not many) and street access is steep, so it won't suit everyone but it was perfect for us. Thanks for a fantastic stay.

Location, location, location!
We know Girona reasonably well. We've stayed in the old town three times and made many day trips over the years. But Sant Daniel was a revelation...the most perfect location for a stay in this truly lovely city. Literally no more than 5 minutes walk to the edge of the old town and located overlooking a wooded hillside, behind Girona's huge cathedral, this loft apartment was just a fabulous place to stay. Quiet at night, so a good night's sleep is not a problem, Shelley's apartment was extremely well-equipped, very spacious and really comfortable. The kitchen/diner is fantastic and a step up from what you would normally expect in a vacation apartment, so if you like cooking, its a pleasure to do so here. We came to Girona to spend a relaxing 5 days and this apartment was the perfect base for this. We did have a rental car as we wanted to re-visit places with fond memories on the coast, but you certainly don't need a car. Highly recommended.

Awesome stay
The pictures on the web didn't do justice to the amazing roof terrace apartment we stayed in overlooking the cathedral. Not only was it wonderfully clean but also had all those little extras (salt, oil, garlic etc) that make the difference in a holiday let. Shelley the hostess was awesome and full of local knowledge so we were able to get off the tourist track and eat like a local. The fact that it is a 5 min walk into town - if that - meant it was great just popping to town and home again a couple of times a day - we didn't bother hiring a car. We definitely will be back especially after seeing her other apartment for rent which was equally gorgeous and full of character. Thanks for a fantastic stay.

One of the best!
If you are looking for a stylish, highly comfortable/maintained, elegant & very clean place to stay that is also VFM, you need look no further. Everything is carefully considered for the pleasure of guests, every detail attended to. We were able to enjoy peace & quiet with stunning views that are not generally available in most hotels, B&Bs and rental accommodation when you stay in a city. However! absolutely amazingly, all this is just a few minutes from the beautiful old town of Girona and all it's activities plus shopping, restaurants, bars, museums, etc. etc. (although there is a superb restaurant in Sant Daniel, very near by - CAL DE MON). So, you really get the best of both worlds. Shelly is helpful & approachable without being intrusive and has a vast knowledge of the locality & beyond. I can see why guests return again & again because there is no need to look anywhere else once you have discovered this place. Well done, Shelly and thank you very much!

Very nice loft, very nice host.
Very nice loft in the best part of Girona only 5 minutes down a small hill to the village. Terrific view from the balcony. Very quiet except for the Cathedral bells which you get used to and even enjoy immediately. Kitchen is well equipped and beds are comfortable. Shower is terrific. The whole place has the feel of a New York loft in a small village at the edge of the countryside. Shelley is a delightful person, very helpful. Very highly recommended!

Magical!!
Dear Shelly, I was going to write a review about the wonderful time we had at the roof top terrace apartment this past summer, but your past reviews said it all!!! I just can add that there is not a better place to relax, have a glass of wine, enjoy the view, and hear the church bells ring over and over again!!!! We can't wait to be back. Thank you so much for sharing your place with us, that was the best part of our trip!!

Can't wait to go back!
As one of the youngest guests Shelly has had in the lofts (22), I can say I stayed there and loved every moment of my time in Girona. The loft was an easy 5 minute walk to the cathedral and the center of oldtown, the most beautiful part of Girona with all the museums and sights suggested to me by the owner Shelly. It is a really walking friendly city. There are hiking/walking trails 10 minutes up the road into the beautiful hills of San Daniel, and great biking. I found myself cooking in the fully equipt kitchen more often than not, and laying out on the terrace. Having a free laundry facility included was a big plus. It was the perfect getaway in a great location right next to town and easy to take the train into Barcelona, or out to the beach. I will go back as soon as I can!

Fabulous Stay in a Fabulous Loft
What a magical place Girona is and what a perfect apartment Shelley's loft was! The rooms were even more spacious than the photographs suggest, the views as beautiful as described, and the short walk to town really short. What's not fully captured in the description, though, is the birdsong that goes along with the views and the beauty of that walk into town: down a winding cobblestone road lined by cypress trees which leads to a small square and a Romanesque church that's now the Archaeological Museum. Shelley also was a perfect host, providing great suggestions for restaurants, museums and outings—and she graciously adjusted her day when our flight to Barcelona was hours late. We'd go back in a heartbeat just to sit once more on the terrace!

An avid history buff and road bicyclist
I stayed in the uppermost apartment in Shelley's building. Airy with beautiful views of the oldest part of Girona. A 10 minute walk to the City Center giving a visitor easy access to shopping, museums and cafes. I also found it a quiet place to stay. I highly recommend this airy apartment with its views. The visitor information supplied by Shelley was very helpful to gain a foothold in terms of groceries, restaurants and historical landmarks. Excellent uncrowded and beautiful bicycling was easily accessed. A car was not needed. Thanks for a great place to stay!

Spectacular View!
I stayed in this wonderful loft apartment for two weeks in August (I had tried to rent it for five weeks, but it was unavailable--I sure wish I could have stayed there the entire time). The apartment is well appointed with everything you could need. The owner was extremely interested in my comfort and satisfaction. I felt very comfortable here, and just loved the rooftop terrace with its spectacular views of the city of Girona. Magical!!

Peaceful, Serene and beautiful
It's funny how things turn out and when I planned a trip to Spain, Girona was not on my radar. But in my use of the vrbo website, I stumbled upon a magnificent find in Girona, this loft and I recommend it highly. Girona is a destination for the active minded, the foodie inclined and the person who loves culture and beauty. The loft at St. Daniel is the perfect backdrop for this setting in every way. Not only is the place well equipped with everything you need, the view off the terrace is very special, peaceful and a place to just lay around and take it all in. I spent much time both during the day and in the evening enjoying the tranquility and comfort of the terrace - perfect with a glass of wine to watch the moon sail over the catedral across the way. Shelley has done an exceptional job of making the loft a comfortable place to be. She has sitting areas that are comfortable and attractive and her artistic touches are special. The kitchen is well set up and modern. The showers, one in and one on the the terrace, have the best water pressure I've known in Europe. I could go on and on. Thanks to Shelley not only for a gorgeous and special dwelling, but also for your hospitality and communication before and during our visit. I believe she goes above and beyond to ensure her guests are happily satisfied. A gem, so stay there!

Magical and Practical
Myself, my husband , and 8 year old son stayed in Shelley's. I can't say enough about the experience we had in Shelley's studio apartment. Shelley has everything you need and more to be happy and comfortable. We used the kitchen on a regular basis and it was well equipped. The beds were comfortable and the bath was very nice. BUT MORE than that, Shelley's place has a certain magic related to the gorgeous views and over-sized deck equipped with tables, chairs, and even beds (we even slept outside one night!). Girona is beautiful and within comfortable driving distance to many great beaches, vineyards, mountains, and villages and much more. And Shelley is an attentive host, spending time with her guests, sharing her knowledge, and helping everyone get the best out of their holiday. Do not hesitate, stay at this place. You will not regret it.

Fantastic Loft Apartment in Beautiful Setting
We had a wonderful stay at Shelley's loft apartment. It has been designed and decorated beautifully and uniquely, in a very peaceful setting. The large terrace overlooks the mountains and cathedral, views we shall never forget - photos do not do it justice! The apartment is in a perfect location, a short walk to the Old Town, where we loved to explore, and in the opposite direction - great mountain walks with more beautiful views. We shall return one day, we loved staying here for the perfect mix of sightseeing and peacefulness.

Real Gem!
We have stayed in many apartments during our travels to Europe, but this has to be our favorite. From the moment I saw the front door (see photos), I knew this was going to be an apartment I would love. Shelley has designed all the internal spaces, creating a contemporary atmosphere of light and air, all within an historic framework. While her listing description and photos give an enticing introduction to the apartment, you can't imagine how truly wonderful the apartment is until you live in it. In fact, the longer the stay the better, since it would best to reserve some days to skip being a tourist, and, instead, stay "home" to relax, check out the views from the balcony and rooftop terrace, or take walks into the surrounding hills. When you do want to be a tourist, Girona's historic center is a five-minute walk away. And, if you want to venture further afield, Girona makes an excellent base from which to explore Catalonia's Costa Brava as well as cities and parks inland (if possible, don't miss a day's trip to Vic and another to the Montseny mountains).

Super Place!
We had a great weeklong stay at Shelley's property. We know that rentals in Europe (and elsewhere) can be a bit "adventurous". In this case we found that Shelley's descriptions of the property are if anything understated. The view cannot adequately be described and must be experienced to be truly appreciated. The location fits into the same category. She has done a top notch job with the loft's renovation and the features, accessories and amenities are excellent. We found the loft to be very clean and we had an easy time communicating with Shelley both to rent and to occupy the unit. Why visit the Girona area? Over years of traveling through much of Mediterranean Italy, France and Spain it has become our favorite Euro destination. Girona is atmospheric, lively, historic, cultured, walkable (also hiking and mountain biking trails begin just below Shelley's loft), with good food at fair prices and friendly, accommodating locals. It is a "real", working, small city that is not overrun by tourists. Further its location is ideal; a short distance to the east is a beautiful coastline with characteristic seaside villages, to the west are the uplands of the Garrotxa. In between are stunning agricultural and forested areas dotted with quaint towns, hamlets, and ancient ruins. We can hardly wait to return next year.

This loft was one of the most beautiful and unique place's I've stayed in. Its decor and design is perfect; it's very welcoming and relaxing. The living room area is very open with a comfortable couch/bed and a wonderful stereo system. The loft in real life looks exactly like it does in the pictures posted (except better!); the only thing that the pictures can't capture is the beautiful view from the balcony and the rooftop terrace. We had everything we needed to be comfortable, and Shelly was extremely welcoming and helpful. I highly recommend looking though the welcome booklet she leaves; it has a lot of good suggestions of things to do and see and places to go out to eat. It was a wonderful experience, and I will definitely be coming back to this loft the next time I'm in Girona!
